That's an interesting question. I never log out and just get timed out after I leave the SL site, so I always have to subsequently log in again. I have never used the automatic log in so I wonder if those who do use that facility comprise the usual around 53 users online?

I always had to log on every time I looked at the site until it was revamped. I now seem to be permanently logged on. Who knows how these things work...?

Currently 50 users This is a question that puzzled me for a long time. I have recently worked out what the confusion is. Basically the statistics reflect the number of registered members to have accessed the site (i.e. "logged in", whether you actually remain logged in permanently or not) within the last 24 hours. Our visitor numbers are quite steady so it's generally around 50ish. It does go up and down a bit though; it's been as high as 70 recently and as low as 40.

Three of them are the YEP, Look North and Calendar on the prowl for stories. You are another one, and there is me as well, so that leaves 48 unaccounted for...

I suspect some are webbots (not sure if that is the right word) that automatically scan the Internet/Word Wide Web thingy as I often notice that within moments of posting a new thread that it gets several viewed hits almost instantly.

We seem to be losing users online as currently there are only 43! Perhaps there's something good on television.
