Hi there,my name is Kev and I am involved in the Leeds stand-up comedy scene.Currently, I am in the process of seeking out a 'secret' space in Leeds city centre, in which we may be able to hold a one-off gig. This would be a charity gig, in support of Carers UK (http://www.carersuk.org/).I was wondering if any of you here would happen to know of any hidden spaces within the city centre which may work as a little venue for one night and if so - who I may be able to contact about obtaining access, ensuring safety of the audience and acts etc.I appreciate this may be far fetched - but if anyone thinks they can offer any potential spaces/ideas/advice, please do say!Big thanks,Kev

Try these peoplehttp://www.templeworksleeds.com/Not quite city centre, but near enough. They do actively promote their place for art, exhibitions, and any other culture events.

Certainly there's no sign of it being refurbished as a bar/club.

As far as I'm aware everything it says on the Mr Ben's website is accurate, (apart from the time frame of 'very soon').If you're after comedy nights of a similar calibre in Leeds in the meantime, these two monthly nights are well worth checking out:Pigeon Hole Comedy at The Brudenell Social Club (https://www.facebook.com/PigeonHoleComedy)The Wrong Show upstairs at The Fenton (http://www.howlcomedy.co.uk/)
