The following is from John Mayhall's 'Annals of Yorkshire' vol 1 published in 1861:-October 9 1857. "The Rev. Dr. Livingstone, the celebrated African traveller delivered an address in East-parade chapel, Leeds, to a crowded and respectable audience, on his discoveries in central South Africa, and their bearing upon the cause of Christian missions. Edward Baines, Esq. presided. On the invitation of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce, the Rev. gentleman delivered an address on the following day at the Stock Exchange, "On the commercial resources of central Africa." The mayor presided."This was of course long before the famous "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" allegedly said by Henry Stanley in 1871 when he found Dr. Livingstone after he had been missing in Africa for about 6 years.
