Asda Leeds's own scorching hot vindaloo curry-beware !

This item came to my attention yesterday,so ever the inquisitive one,i thought i'd purchase a portion to try out it's claims.You know,many a time we buy stuff and it doesn't quite hit the spot ! Well.....this particular offering is very much what it says on the tin(carton)...fearsome would be mild,hot would be an untruth and downright scorching would be near the mark ! So,guys.....you have been warned.This 5 chilli rated,"chosen by you" rendition of a traditional,popular indian dish is one to be given the utmost of respect.I am still trying to come to terms with something i had a go at 2 hours ago....most of which is still not consumed on account of looking after one's own personal welfare and safety in matters not to be discussed at length publicly.Needless to say,iced toilet rolls are at hand should they be required.......and well they might.450 grammes of torture.......for £2 Additional feedback from anybody who has tried this product would be interesting!

A couple of years ago, Asda did a 'special edition' curry from the in store counter delightfully called "Find-a-loo".Needless to say I didn't partake - while I love a curry I prefer to go for flavour over outright heat. A Jalfrezi or Rogan Josh will do me just fine thanks, home made even better (although you can't argue with the prices Asda charge)...

Yes ,i used to be a "Hot Man" (oooh err) myself,but now prefer a tasty one to anything else,if it has a bit of heat then its a bonus,but too much just spoils it.Sainsburys Chicken Saag Massaala from their deli counter is worth a try,and Tesco do Aagrah sauces in jars (cooking one as we speak) which are the best sauces for homemade that i have come across,and believe me, ive tried a lot!!

Also picked up in Tesco on Roundhay Road a decent Raita dip for starters.Ok,i know what you are going to say when i tell you its on an aisle shelf and in a 1 litre plastic bottle.BUT,when opened it keeps for 8 weeks in the fridge,and it is the best non fresh restaurant Raita yet (its made by a company called Heera) and the aisle concerned is in Tescos on Roundhay Roads huge ethnic foods range section.If you like Raita with your starters at home,then this is pretty damn good,better than any other supermarkets own brands on their deli counters or the Pataks jar Raita you can get off the shelf in Sainsburys and Asda etc

I have a feeling that I may be the odd one out here as I cannot take curry. Even supposedly mild ones are far to intense a flavour for me. I also get put off by what seems to be the smell of curry-based food that pervades some people when near them, eg on buses. I accept though that curried foods seems to be enjoyed by many (if not most) people, but not me!
