The following are from John Mayhall's 'Annals of Yorkshire':-September 30 1863. "The Leeds town council decided to cover Woodhouse moor reservoir, at a cost of £5863. 13s. 7d."I love the extremely precise figure. September 30 1867. "The new and beautiful Theatre erected in Hunslet Lane, Leeds, by Mr. Coleman, on the site of the Old Theatre Royal, was opened for the first time. The house was densely crowded in every part, and presented a most brilliant appearance."
