There is an interesting children's home link to the 55 Cliff Road, Leeds building here: http://www.childrenshomes.org.uk/HeadingleyOrphanHomes/

During the mid-1960's and early 1970's at least, 55 Cliff Road was known as MIH (Methodist International House), providing student accommodation for foreign students studying at various further education institutions around Leeds.

When MIH closed the main building was converted into the Halcyon Court care home. Originally, the building consisted of two wings extending out the back away from the frontage onto Cliff Road, with a separate annex building across the yard at the back. The building was extensively modified to create Halcyon Court, by infilling between the two wings, and demolishing the annex.

There are some group photographs of students who lived at MIH during 1967-68 posing in the rear yard with the annex behind (search flickr.com "MIH Leeds").
