http://openlibrary.org/ click on the 'show only ebooks' option you can find lots of vintage books that are free to read.Most of the free stuff is about 100 years old so if you search for keywords like: LEEDS, ENGINEERING, etc etc.You can download in mobi format for Kindle.Kindle programme can be downloaded for PC use, and of course as a mobile 'phone app.

Thanks for that link Brunel. The site looks highly useful. I've just searched Yorkshire and also Leeds and for both there are many interesting books that can be downloaded free.
