The following is taken from John Mayhall's 'Annals of Yorkshire' vol 2:-July 10 1862 "10th, 11th, 12th. A cricket match between the All England Eleven v twenty-two of Morley and district, took place at Morley, the result being--All England first innings 124, second do. 119. Morley and district first innings 156, second do. 87."The result was thus a draw! I wonder if that was arranged? Mind you the Morley and district did have 22 players.

I wonder where it was played, I have a vague memory of someone telling me that they used to play cricket behind the Nelson pub on Victoria Road.

www.cbw.org.uk/Archive/Scorecards/194/194477.html Cheers uncle mick for that link and the scorecard you gave in your earlier post. I see in the Cricket Archive it states there were only 4 balls an over and that "The All England Eleven were lucky to escape defeat, Morley, with three wickets to fall only one run off victory -- the scores being tied". If it had then been settled by football penalties England would no doubt have lost!
