I haven't had any interest in the Olympics so far, but the good weather tempted me into Headingley to see the Olympic flame earlier this evening. I turned up with ten minutes to go and got a good vantage point opposite Headingley Library. Here are three of the photos I took, which I thought were worth adding to this site as a record:

I was there too. Good turn out and atmosphere. Took my litle girl as it is a once in a lifetime thing. Now in the Oak for the footy.

Been "locked out" for a couple of hours or so......

Good to see you out with the camera again Tasa, nice weather you had too Yes Somme, the site has been crashing more times than Evel Knievel this weekend.I too have had problems getting on it since yesterday. The same people who maintain the Natwest computers must do this one too

I too have been non-plussed by the Olympics thus far, but was curious enough to venture out and have a shufti on Grove Lane.I can fully understand the nippers getting excited, but the display of mass hysteria from some of the adults present left me worried for the future of the human race.I noted too that the escorting police officers were from the Met.They must have been there just in case an innocent member of the public needed shooting.Signed.Cynical of Meanwood.Oh, and Phil, the late, great Evel Knievel NEVER crashed, he merely landed heavily.....very heavily and very often.The man was a legend!    

Its strange that if you want to see the Olympic flame in Leeds tomorrow you have to be there at 6am?! Whats that all about? Dont they realise its virtually impossible for the vast majority of people to be able to even get into Leeds at that time? At about a quarter past 5 in the evening, here on the ring road at West Park there was a convoy of Olympic branded cars, coaches etc with 8 police motorcycle escorts stopping the traffic ahead and riding alongside, so I guess that was the torch as it was heading to the stadium in Headingley. You couldnt actually see the flame though.

Thanks all. I wasn't sure whether to post these photos on here as the Olympics have been London-centric so far, but I'm pleased that others apart from me turned out to watch. Cardiarms, the Oak must be packed and I don't envy you - I retreated home with a bottle of Aspall's Dry Cyder!Phill, I haven't been out with the camera for ages but will be in the Isle of Man again from tomorrow for a couple of weeks, trying to retake all the photos from the past four years which were lost when my hard drive and backup failed at the same time - I've bought two more 4gb cards for the purpose!

Have you tried this Tasa?http://www.piriform.com/RECUVAIt works pretty good, It's found photos on my memory card dating back to 2009, it might find some of your lost stuff too, oh yes it also scans your recycle bin, or files. It's worth a try     

Luckily missed the whole shooting match. Saw the motorcycle outriders going along Bradford Road in Tingley. Never waved, miserable lot. Only good side is whilst that was going on, no Police anywhere else in the area. Apparently someone with a bucket was jumped on..
