Do SL folk recall this tragic incident?
http://tinyurl.com/cpz5xqgWe all know the name Stephen Lawrence but David Oluwale seemed to go under the radar in life and sadly in death. I was just just 8 at the time but remember something going on (perhaps the resultant case/investigation).The case provides juxtapose to the warm wooly nostalgefest of 'Leeds' books I've acquired by Waterhouse, Bennett and the usual suspects. Thanks here to Leo.Who's church army thread had a mention of the case. I couldn't remember names.

http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/Messag ... readID=273 Said author lives in istanbul. Getting back to this threadDo SL folk have any recollections. I don't have any recollections of the Oluwale episode, but it always remind me of the sad story behind the Black Flash Albert Johanneson. They both started out very different when they arrived in this country, one a down and out tramp, the other rose to fame playing in the great Leeds 1960's side. I don't know if there was any mention of Albert on S.L before?

No. I have never heard of him and I can't remember my parents speaking of the case back then either. Odd?
