I don't recall a steelworks in Hunslet but there have been plenty of explosions (controlled and otherwise) and accidents at the IMI Yorkshire Copperworks in Stourton.Even in the 70's and 80's you could still hear the underground pipe expanding explosions at IMI from Rothwell Haigh.
Ravioli, ravioli followed by ravioli. I happen to like ravioli.

The steelworks was on Midland rd occupying land later built on by Harry reynolds steel stockholders and the union cold storage. some 20 odd acres in total. this link provides some info and a picture of the works.http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... Y=FULLSome of the rail spurs remain and can be seen from the bridge on Balm rd
