In Rod McPhee's column on page 13 of today's YEP there is a photo of Boar Lane. It can also be seen through this link in the YEP website:- http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/l ... 1_4229188I wonder if anyone can put a date to the photo? I recall some of the shops, such as the Boots and the Owen & Robinson, but not such as the L&C Rubber Co Ltd. I vaguely recall the Kee Hong Chinese Restaurant and the Thorntons Chocolate Kabin.PS. Having checked after posting I've noticed that the website photo cuts off some of the photo that is on the left of that in the newspaper, so that the Kee Hong is not seen in the website version and also some of the L&C Rubber Co Ltd.

I'm sure Blakey will be along and identify it from the bus but my guess is about 1958.

Thanks Geordie-exile and dogduke. It was taken on 13 August 1962 according to the Leodis note, so your guess Geordie was close. My guess would have been the late 1960's to the very early 1970's, so I would have been way out.

I was just two...I do remember (not at that age) going to a chinese on Boar Ln full of mainly chinese folks, other early memories are of the deep matt black of most of the buildings.Apart from a few years after being built we are probably the first generation to see Leeds sandblasted clean.http://www.leodis.org/GuidedTour.aspx?ORDER=10&ID=26
