SecretLeeds - History, culture and architecture in Leeds

panning out from street view, the 1930's car showroom on Regent street (now a self storage place opposite maplins) has a fantastic rooftop carpark that i never knew existed. the access ramp looks like it enters the building on the 1st floor and then emerges on the roof! does anyone know if it was always like this?http://g.co/maps/9s8ep

I would have thought it probably was like this given it's former purpose.

The roof top car park was on top of Cox and Co. Garage, they were one of the main garages in Leeds supplying Hillmans I think. If you look on google maps just to the West of there on Trafalgar Street there is a similar structure, this was Tates garage. The roof top car park is still in use there £5.00 a day.

Definitely Hillman days were they bought by Roots
