At the moment we number 6320 users. If I have few minutes to spare I sometimes read through old threadsand wonder what happened to some who were quite prolific AND entertaining posters. Some that come to mind are :-RangieownerBrandyWiggyadsflojoclapham commonerSome people are only interested in one specific item and onlypost to that thread. We lost a few I think over some earlier unpleasentness. At the moment 65 people are shown on line, how many look but don't sign in ?Would it be a good idea to sign in here and let us know who is still out there ?

I'll start the ball rolling. Not a prolific poster - compare 'length of service' with number of posts - but I look in most days and contribute where I feel I have something relevant to add.

Brandy seems to have completeley gone,i emailed him and did not get a reply, perhaps he has changed his email address.Wiggy seems to be long gone too.I think the various spells of "nastiness" have had an effect,it certainley did on me as i decided i'd had enough of trying to maintain some semblance of order when things were tough, which they never should have been. The accusation of a clique has been raised before, however i would disagree that was the case.I would say that a number of long term members who contributed a huge amount to this site, both in time, effort and dare i say devotion, have become friends on a great website, and have met in the real world too. Those people are therefore more familiar with certain members than others, they swap info, they ask and get help and they have banter. I can see why some people may somehow feel "left out" and that a small number of members "Run" the site but that is purely unintentional, everyone who wants to positively contribute to this site is welcomed with open arms, and i can only hope that those persons who wish to contribute do so (as long as we are not talking about chapped legs and ointment!!) and feel that they will be ackowledged accordingly.

I don't post as much as they stopped me a cessing at work<G>.I still check it regularly and post if I know something .I have had the pleasure of meeting some posters in real life, and can echo the comment that they are a pleasure to chat to, and very knowledgable.this site is a mine of information on Leeds and area, and the first site I direct people to if they are looking for information about the area.I hope we can arrange another meetup soon.

I'm pleased you say that jogon, I know you were upset at first but the success of the site is down to members accepting what the site was set up for and we try simply to remind people if things slip a little. At these times when ways are continually sought to cut costs we must remember that even this site could be at risk ao it is important to try to keep at as was intended which is all we want.dsco and munki the founders and controling administrators set the limits but found that with their 'day' jobs they couldn't fully attend to the site and postings and asked for volunteers to help with the basic daily housekeeping - which is what we try to do, to their requirements. It's not always easy and there are times when we would not always agree with or like the actions required but, you either do the job or not and, do it for the site, not yourself. It's particularly hard when you have to tell those you have come to know well to watch what they say! On the whole, this is a very peaceful and friendly place. The response sometimes though can be a little too much and has seen the likes of Brandy call it a day and others come very close. Whatever anyone may think, we do try to be fair and take a far more liberal stand than there was in the beginning - admin were very strict and unwanted posts were deleted on sight without warning, so spare a thought for us and our efforts at trying to keep the place safe from the hatchet brigade.Hope the New Year is a happy one for everybody.
