Fond memories of Geoffreys Photographers on Boar lane in the late 50`s and early 60`s, had my picture taken there as a baby and a young boy. I also remember Stone Dri, got my first Crombie coat from there.

The goth clothes shop was called 'X Clothes' and there was another 'alternative' clothes shop further down on the opposite side of the road (opposite the Bond Street centre-ish) called 'Sprite 58'. I remember my mum buying me a pair of Doc Marten shoes from there in 1987 when they were the in thing for 15 year old girls!!

Blimey Combat Sports that brings back memories the stuff I used to buy in there as a teenager. Thinking about it most of it would be banned now let alone sold to kids

Geordie Jeans next to McDonalds. There was a contact shop somewhere near where Subway is now (basically a second hand air rifle, camera and musical instrument shop to those not int he know).

Anyone remember Watson Cairns with the Reliant Robin in the window and the impression of my 12 year old nose on the window looking at the Vespas inside (around the time of Quadrophenia).

Hi. I do remember going with my parents shopping in Boar Lane in the late 1950's/early 1960's. There was a gent's outfitter on Boar Lane that my dad shopped at. They sold top quality shirts made by Van Heusen (not cheap stuff !). I am not sure exactly where the shop was. I don't think that C&A was in business then.
