The water features in Mandela Garden at the Great George Street end have not been working for ages now. I wonder if anyone knows if they are permanently out of commission or what? I know they used to be used as rubbish tips by some could-not-care-less people, and occasionally had foaming agent put in. Perhaps it's an health and safety issue, as the immediate pavement near the water sprinkler did get wet at times so maybe there are concerns over people slipping.I do like the features and it would be a shame if they are not to come back on.

Seems Leeds doesnt do very well with its water features, the City Square and the old petrol station at the bottom of Eastgate dont seem to work a great deal.

This has also reminded me of the short-lived water feature that was in (if I recall rightly) the Lands Lane area (close to W H Smiths?). I can't though recall when it was in use and then dismantled.

The Lands Lane fountain was working when I first came to Leeds in 1972. But it would often fill up with rubbish, eventually the water stopped running and it was removed

The water feature in Victoria Quarter is one that seems to run fine. That's probably though because it is located in a commercial site and is well maintained.
