Well done to Call Lane for coming second in the Google Hippest Street awards, beating anything in that London.Second to South Shore Road in Gateshead, by the way. Just thought I'd mention. But seriously, when you think of Call Lane's sometimes murky past and reputation, it's a remarkable turn round.

I dont know about it been the Hippest Street. Try walking down it on a Monday morning, full of puke, broken glass, cig butts all around and usually a trail of blood from one of the bars down to the bottom under the rail bridge, terrible smell of urine down by the bridge as well.Half a dozen rubbish bins strewn around the pavement making it more of an obstacle course.More the sh@@@@@iest street in Leeds
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

Don't live in Leeds now, but sounds from what you say as if there is no difference from when it had its "murky reputation"
