This is one of the local sites but it's not a message board. This guy went and photographed all the pubs in Gateshead. It will make a valuable archive. http://www.gateshead-pubs.com/4595.html

I seem to remember that there is a counterpart to Secret Leeds for Glassgow at least, other cities and towns somewhere must do something similar - theinternet seems like the place to research this.Interesting as it will be to learn of other sites, please let's remember that this one is about Leeds (and the odd secret village)and avoid delving too much into the secret environs of more distant lands!

There is an excellent website centered around the Get Carter locations - then and now pics, history of the locations and the wider area, local info etc. Post edited to say I've found the link: http://www.getcartertour.pwp.blueyonder ... tcarter/So not quite a Secret Tyneside, but a website worth and hour or two if you have the time.Phill also has some excellent Get Carter location pics on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn ... 494044859/

Indeed. If only we had a website with a pm facility we could discuss off topic stuff without cluttering it.So, just a final word about Forth Lane - a passage that reminds me a lot of the ones off Kirkgate and Briggate. I don't know if the city arms plaque is there because it is indeed close to the site of one area of the town walls, or whether it's for the building itself, which now houses Newcastle Arts Centre, which has some interesting information on its website:http://www.newcastle-arts-centre.co.uk/history.htm
