Halton Moor sports centre to close and thought Why the estate has been raped for years of houses two schools shops and now the sports centre this is a disgrace where dose it stop. More jobs gone. People cant afford to go and pay big money to private clubs. The sports centre was for the people. Very sad times are coming and around the world and not long here before the people of the UK turn on the governments and councils.

Very sad to see things like this happen. But the blame lies with the previous government who in times of prosperity gave tax payers cash away all too easily, sold gold at record lows and bailed out the banks when alternative approaches were there.

It's going to be a very grim 4-5 years. What do you think all those kids in Halton are going to do on a night now ?

And it will be released soon that there are likely to be over 100 people working for Leeds City Council earning over £58,000 a year. Eric Pickles is going to make councils release this info. The average prior to 1997 was 7 apparently and now it is 81. LCC is a larger than average council so go figure. But we can't afford to maintain a Sports Cetnre that has already been built, is probably staffed by teenagers on little money most of the time and serves a huge purpose in a part of the city which really needs it.Probaly better read this post quick as I imagine it will be taken down.

Certainly is. I have plenty of sympathy for those who are being made redundant and feel they have been directed to take employment which was not sustainable. If you don't make anything or provide a service that private industry are prepared to pay for then you better watch out, these Tories are coming to get you.

It's not as is massively inflating the concil wage budget is a solution to the super rish not paying enough tax. The super rish will never pay tax as they will not live here. How can you make a foreign company or resident pay tax? The answer is you can't and even if you do they will just pass it on to the customer anyway. If Little Johnnie wants Philip Green to cough for his taxes to pay for his Polyversity [edited for content] Up then he is going to have to pay more for his skinny jeans in TopMan.Do people on limited incomes want Primark taxed to high heaven so that the £10 dress becomes £15? What would be the purpose?Do we trust Governments to spend Taxeswisely? I don't. Not on recent evidence anyway.

I just think people want companies to pay the tax on the money they have earned in the UK. If the assumption that money spent on education and basic amenities is wasted then what should it be spent on ? It almost seems that people are being demonised for daring to want an education, and by people who didn't pay a penny for one.
