I've just seen this item dated today in the quirky news section of the Ananova news website. It made me but also astounded that it happened!A brand new state-of-the-art high security door failed to hold a prisoner - after it wasn't shut properly.A 25-year-old criminal, who had been locked up in a Leeds police station for breaching bail, simply walked out of the door. And as he carried on walking out of the police station, he flashed a cheeky V-sign at the CCTV cameras, reports The Mirror. The burglar, who has been convicted of hundreds of offences and who was described as 'dangerous', was later recaptured.West Yorkshire Police, who say the cell door had only been installed a few days, has launched an investigation.

Presumably behind closed (and locked) doors.

I apologise Leodian for my one line attachment to your message. It was purely unintentional on my part and was meant to stand alone, once again I apologise.

I realised what you had added to my post was in error and I thought your "Presumably behind closed (and locked) doors" was clever and funny. Talking of doors I must admit that when I walk past such as banks etc that have a "Push here to enter" button on their doors I have to greatly resist the temptation to push the button to see if they have remembered to lock up!
