This, according to all whoever worked in it, or saw it , was the worlds largest single constructed workroom.:- Montague Burton,s coat room at Hudson Rd. factory.

I recall that claim being made ........ I do remember going to a mass scout event in the most enormous room at the Hudson Road factory which I presume was the coat room in questionThere is a superb account of the life and work of Montague Burton (or Meshe Osinsky as he was born) at the ever excellent movinghere.org.uk website that is well worth a browse:http://www.movinghere.org.uk/galleries/ ... .htm#There are some excellent photos from within the factory (including some rather trendy 1930s ladies operating the trouser presses ....... not quite what I suspect one would have normally encountered there!) which have been extracted from the West Yorkshire Archives Service
