The lights displays shown were terrific. Hope they can get something similar in Leeds in due course.

The new street lighting is supposed to adress this problem too isn't it JIm - though I never did see the point in letting the light shine everywhere instead of directing it to where it was needed. Having said that, all the new ones on the smaller roads seem to have been arranged to hit my windscreen like full-beam

Hi Chameleon. The new lights are a small improvement on what was in place previously, but there is a huge way to go. On only has to see the sky from a truly dark site on a clear night to appreciate how little of what is up there is visible from any urban area. I'm afraid the nearest spot is in Galloway.
