The photo (taken today October 28 2010) shows the rather worn street name (Bank Street) of a road off Boar Lane next to the Trinity development. It is a short stretch which was (and still is) I think that used when vehicles took things to and from the underground area of Marks & Spencer (and possibly other places). Until I passed it yesterday I was not aware it had a name, so I took the photo today as I had a camera with me. In a post of mine below there will be (I hope!) a possibly more interesting photo of the street name on possibly a very old feature on a building.

This is the photo showing the Bank Street name on a possibly very old feature on the side of a building.

Hi Leodian i think you will find the sign is cast iron it looks like it was painted over with wall paint.Ps did you say you thought it was stone if not i must be going round the twist.

The wall could do with a new coat of paint now but perhaps with all the development work going on it may not be worth it. With the now increasing work in the area it will not be long before some views of such as Trinity Church from Lands Lane will soon be out of view again, so I took some photos today to add to some I already have from that area before the development work started up again recently. PS. Oops sorry about the stone I originally posted but I edited that post shortly after I posted it when I realised the name was not in stone.

Talking of Trinity Church - has this changed it's name - walked passed it the other day and there seemed to be a new name above the entrance.

In the 'Buildings and structures' section I started a thread on October 21 2010 titled 'Is this part of an old passage off Briggate or just space betwen buildings'. In a reply by buffaloskinner on October 22 there was a map of the area taken from a 1964 map (I have not reproduced the map as I cannot work out how to do it as copying and pasting it did not work!). Thanks to buffaloskinnner for the map.The map shows a Cross Bank Street that presumably connects Bank Street (which was only just off the map) with Trinity Street which is shown. So not only did I not know there is a Bank Street but I did not recall there was a Cross Bank Street. But then I'm rubbish at recollection as I don't even recall Trinity Street running to Boar Lane in at least 1964. If I ever live to be a 100 and I get asked what I recall of old Leeds I will have to say "nothing at all" (or words to that effect!).
