We're going to the Russian Standard Originals Film Festival at Cottage Road on Monday evening to see a screening of "It's a Wonderful Life".Should be good - a classic film in a classic cinema, the first time we've been there too.Anyone know what parking is like near there? I've had a quick look on Google maps and it looks like on street is the only option nearby? I'm guessing it might be busy.

Cottage Road is murder for parking, especially if it's a popular movie on. Try parking in the Three Horseshoes car park. Go in for an orange juice and you should be OK.

Depending on times, there's parking at Headingley Arndale Centre if you're up for a 5 to 10 minute walk.

Thanks - the film starts at 8.30pm, so it will be 11-ish by the time it finishes I guess.I'm surprised how poorly publicised this event has been. There are classic films on every night from Monday - Friday this week, but all I've seen promoting it is one tiny advertisement in Fridays YEP. It's barely mentioned on Cottage Road's own website and there are no listings for the films to be shown. Perhaps another one for the really secret Leeds thread?

Following my earlier post, there is a little more info here on the cinema owners website:

The Headingley network will have it full of beards and sandals. There's usually a classic film once a month with old adverts, an intermission and proper choc-ices.

Excellent stuff - apart from the ******'s who turned up late and got the start time put back by over 20 minutes....despite it clearly stating on the tickets that late arrivals wouldn't be admitted.Anyhoo, signed up for The Shawshank Redemption on Wednesday and The Godfather on Friday
