The thread that is currently running about Pantos brought back a hazy memory ..... as a relative of a LCT employee I vaguely remember being taken to a huge Xmas childrens party held by LCT or it's social committee or something - can't even remember if at Swinegate or Torre Road .... Swinegate I think? .... does my memory serve me correctly? There are enough ex LCT bods on this board to recall these events I'm sure!

I think in days gone by, many large companies did this. Dad worked for John Fowler who certainly did,, held in the canteen, the ceiling covered entirely with paper decorations - not a gap to be found and, later for WH Howson who were associated with Crabtrees - going to their premises on Water Lane for theses events is my first memory of what I now know is the Hol Beck!

Hi Cham, yes I remember taking my kids to the Christmas parties at Swinegate Social Club, this would be in the 70's as my kids are 42 and 40! I think after Swinegate closed they had the party's at individual garage canteens ,

Thinking of LCT and Christmas, I seem to remember them putting coloured lights in the bus light sockets at Christmas. Or have I imagined this?
