I was reading the BBC website and came across this prehistoric fish article. Now I as curious as to where its name originated, obviously. It turns out to be from a Professor of that name and it was unearthed in Peterborough. Pity there isn't one on display at the new museum.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leedsichthys

It was also mentioned in last nights YEP.I just assumed they'd spelt it incorrectly...

Yeah but as it says it's named after the finder not our fair City.

But the finder is named after our fair city - so there's a link, albeit very tenuous.

I was out fishing on the river yesterday did you catch anything you ask well i caught two Leeds one ten pounds one fifteen pounds. lol
