Hi guys, i got an e-mail with a picture attachment, It's someone asking me if i recognise the building, It was found in a loft with a set of pics marked Leeds 1957.I don't recognise the place myself, I wonder if any of you can help?I've put the pic in the secret Leeds flickr group herehttp://

There you go Phill. Strange mix in the design, gothic with chimneys and urns reminiscent of ancient Greece structures, wondering about their mystic significance, being in Leeds

I don't think it's Gothic, Steve. I'd guess it's an Italianate style known as Palladian, with an octagonal domed cupola, and a Classical portico featuring Corinthian columns (more Roman than Greek.) The "chimneys" are odd though, looking a little like LeonardHenry's truncated pyramids/obelisks. If it was in Leeds, I'm surprised we've never seen it before.
