Is that it?I believe it officially “opened” two weeks ago. I can’t comment on the soundproofing because I haven’t walked through it and I will have had earphones in every time I have been driven through it. However the lighting has to be a disappointment given what has been spent on the project and the fact it “opened” 10 months after it was supposed to.I realise that it couldn’t be too distracting to motorists but I was expecting more than a single colour straight lines of lights that supposedly changes every 24 hours on the east wall and a semi reflective material on the west. The light is mainly provided by the flood lights over the installation, which are blinding to anyone sat on the top deck of a bus, but from memory provide only about the same amount of light at ground level as the installation before several million* was sent on it.It was meant to be the centrepiece to a “southern gateway” to Leeds but much like the Cross Gates gates I can’t help thinking it’s a waste of a lot of money. Is it a case of “the Emperor’s New Clothes”?*money spent includes the readjustment of road, pavement and kerbs

I walk down Neville Street to go to/from work and I cannot say that I have noticed if it is any quieter. The paths have been widened but then the frame work for the lighting sticks off the wall and takes up space. It's still very busy at 5pm when you are in a rush to get your transport home !!

According to the YEP, this work cost £4.6 million.I'm struggling to see how. As has already been said, most of the lighting comes from floodlights, just like before. I suppose the spread of light might be slightly better, but even so....Apparently "ambient" noises are played to minimise the traffic noise - I've wound the car window down when I've been queuing in there and there is something playing in the background but it doesn't seem any quieter.Still, at least they haven't installed three farm gates at either end

The lighting is worse. The shadows were not there when it was the lighting before. The place is darker and more scary now. There is a pink noise which is worse than the traffic noise. Millions to have a worse effect. Moving bus stops too. Metro did a survey and didn't like the results. We all hated it. Another rubbsh improvement. And how long before it fails and darkness decends once again on the Dark Arches al la Granary Wharfe?

Loiner, Granary Wharfe is going to be rescued by the new multi million pound south entrance to the station that looks like half an egg suspended above the river and looking like it is glued to the viaduct

I have driven through Neville St on a regular basis for several years now and have looked forward to the new project for some time. When the lights on the new wall were first switched on I remember thinking Mmmm, this could be quite nice once the rest of it is lit up, only now, a couple of weeks later, do I realise in fact - this is it, this is what you get for your money, what another bloody disgaceful waste of cash by the powers that be in Leeds.I too was expecting lights of different colours that changed pattens etc as you drove by, the ones on the left as you approach city square are actually quite distracting while you drive, as your eye just catches the effect of movement and you are naturally drawn to it - It's fine once you are used to it but to the occasional driver it can be quite a distraction. What a fantastic gateway into Leeds from the South - NOT
