Joking aside, one of those times when the old 'elf 'n safety laws ( for fabrics and flameproofing ) might have been useful. Think how many kids will be in 'homemade from anything' outfits from now through Christmas.

There was an incident in Wortley in 1890ish where 11 kids died in a fire when their paper fancy dress costumes caught alight.

It's scary to think how quickly a night out can go from fun and games to outright terror.I hope the lad in question makes a good recovery.I'm guessing the pub will have CCTV so it's presumably just a matter of time before someone is identified?

I wouldn't bet on CCTV being useful.a lot of pubs don't want to be seen as the type where this happens, in case they get closed down, so you would be surprised how often the CCTV gets "lost" or "not switched on" allegedly of course<G>.

If the poster had copied/pasted the whole story you would have realisedTwo men, aged 38 and 33, from Portsmouth were arrested. The 33-year-old was released without charge and the 38-year-old was released on police bail pending further inquiries.
