2 Yorkshire locations sought

Been doing a quiz set by Huddersfield Cancer Research Committee. Mrs Hoo and I have solved 63 out of 65, so probably can't see the wood for the trees by now. They're cryptic clues, and the answers are "found in Yorkshire".1. Black, for example, English and French (6)2. Building follows horse in shallow receptacle (14, two words).We've got hung up on Dishforth here, building being 'fort' following 'h' for 'horse' in 'dish', being a shallow receptacle. But can't think of any 5 letter word to go with it, and the OS map doesn't show any features such as 'House'.Any Secret Leodiensians got any thoughts?Closing date's 6th November.We won last year, so we've got a reputation to preserve!!!!!

Is the first one 'prince'? As in the black prince, he had an English father and a French mother.

Thanks guys I guess it was a flash of inspiration! I don't live in Calverley anymore, I ended up moving back to Bramley for monetary reasons mainly. I would move back to Calverley if I could it seemed like a very nice area even if our street was used as a bit of a rat run.

Hi Mork,My reason for asking was that my Dad lives on the ground floor, and I'm the awkward old git who visits him - referred to in a previous thread!So we're not likely to bump into each other, after all.Chameleon:I agree with you entirely, but organisers will never admit they're wrong!!Another recent charity quiz (not the same people) was 'Things Found In A Garden'. One clue was "you save your money for it". I offered 'thrift'. The "correct" answer was 'fountain'. Which do you prefer?UH

I get the anagram "region" for the first one - noir (black)/e.g. (example). But I can't get a Yorkshire connection to it.
