The old calverley Bridge and forgotten approach road brought a sense of the past to these pages.How about the old route from Armley to Burley down Redcote Lane known as lantern lane, over the Redcote bridge known as the halfpenny bridge both nicknames attributable to Alan Godfrey's map notes.Workers living in "ahem" rural armley crossing to Industrial Burley to their work......Another delightful Bridge..........Still there to walk down to from Armley Park....

You could years ago drive over that too from Kirkstall Road. Quite how I allowed myself to be taken over the watery stuff in the dark I'm not sure - not my most loved environments!Walking over is of course all that is possible now as you say - Phill has some shots of the railway bridges with small tunnels somewhere on here if I recall.

Google street view attempted the road trip from the Armley end and startled a YEDL engineer IIRC.
