Hi guys.I've recently spent several days exploring under the Pennine hills.I made several trips to the Standedge tunnels.Three railway tunnels, and a canal tunnel were constructed in this great engineering feat. There are over 12 miles of tunnels, all joined together by a labyrinth of small interconnecting passages and adits. It really is a vast and amazing man made grotto under there! There's some very strange things down in those tunnels! My chance encounter with the ghost of the old Navvie, strange vortex winds, the flickring lights and the devils chair can all be read about here.http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuse ... 956There's some great landscape shots as well as hellish full size tunnel pics.I hope you enjoy!

Tell me about it Si.It took me 1 hour of solid walking to get to the other end three miles away. Can you imagine legging a fully laden boat through for that distance?Incredible. That place nearly killed me lol.10 hours i spent squeezing in every hole you could find ha ha It took three trips in total to do it all.
