got in2 abit of a disagreement with someone at work today about what the boundary of beeston is , dont suppose anyone knows where and how to get a map of the beeston and hunslet boundaries? usually a bit of googling sorts out ur answer but not this time i cant find anything anywhere

I know the boundary between Beeston and Middleton follows for most of the way close enough the old tram lines through the woods, the lower part of the woods near gypsy lane goin down past westland industrial estate is called beeston woods on an old o/s map I have, the rest of the boundary is possibly Tunstall road, the longroyds are in Hunslet, Dewsbury Road, Hunslet Hall Road, Beeston Road then Elland Road and Ring road bringing you back to Tommy wass area. This might not be exactly right so if anyone can corret please do cos i'd like to know too having spent half my life living in Beeston

A discussion that has been on before. I don't think you are too far wrong Billy although the proximities of Hunslet and Holbeck Moors might suggest a slightly tighter boundary. I think the previous discussion also involved the railway line that ran from Stourton (you can still see the bridge over Wakefield Road just above first direct) through Belle Isle and Middleton Woods before going under the bottom of Middleton Ring Road and joining the LNER (London/Wakefield) line opposite the White Rose Centre.As Beeston and Middleton are "ancient" villages that have just been engulfed in Leeds urban sprawl I doubt there really is an official boundary but it would be interesting to see the post code split between LS10, LS11 and LS27 (? Morley/Churwell)

I'd be interested to know too. There are some really old buildings photographed on Leodis which I think are in the vicinity of Town Street, I assume that was where the original village of Beeston was?

Lived for most of my early life I lived in Beeston so was quite shocked when in 1960 I bought a house in Burlington Place, the street that runs parallel with the parade of shops by Cross Flatts Park / Dewsbury Road and on the Deeds the house is in Hunslet.
