Now then, I was having a discussion with a colleague from work today and we were talking about It's a Knockout and I seem to remember an episode being filmed at Rounday Park sometime in the 70's, but then again, i dont know if I just imagined it or what, does anyone have any recollections of this at all. If its already been discussed elsewhere, apologies.

I remember Pans People being at Roundhay Park around 73. There were fireworks, but I don't remember Eddie Waring, etc.

I'm guessing Eddie didn't do it for you!I remember a Roundhay Park event but i was too young to be a reliable witness.

Well I am tempted to suggest that I have wasted ten minutes of my life researching this ............... but it didn't half ring a bell with me too!Your memory is almost right, it wasn't an episode of Its a Knockout but an episode of the international version "Jeux Sans Frontières"It was recorded on Wednesday 14th July 1976 and the theme was based on Farm Animals so the games played were:‘Tomatoes’, ‘Turkeys and Eggs’, ‘Milking the Cows’, ‘Finding the Eggs’, ‘Sheep-Dipping’, ‘Donkeys’, ‘Caterpillars’, ‘Horses Obstacle Race’ (Fil Rouge) and ‘Sheepdogs and Sheep’Great Britain were represented by Kirklees who stormed to a 4 point lead over the nearest German rival Traunstein. Blimey, thanks for that, I didn't imagine it then, I wonder if it was filmed in the arena or on soldiers fileds, but no matter, my mind is at rest now.

July 1976? As it says, 'very warm and dry'. A bit of an understatement I think. : )

I remember seeing "It's a knockout" just a few years ago on soldier's field, looked huge and there was quite a big crowd too!

Now interstingly what i do remember about the program was the beginning and the end.Stuart Hall did the intro about the Leeds area,showing various views.the one i remember is the little ford in Thorner.and right at the end of the closing tiltles the camera shot to a solitary policeman verlooking the end of teh event,with an overdubbed voice singing"If you want to know the time..ask a policeman"How about that fro rembering useless rubbish at the age of 10
