Another out-of-Leeds one but I was told they filmed for one episode at Ferrybridge Power Station, using the impressive hoist that used to lift full barges of coal out of the river (canal?). Think they may have fished a body out or something like that. Not seen it myself, so can't add any detail or even confirm that it's tru, but it was what I was told when I worked there a few years ago.

Can't find an episode of Stranger in the House online to help you really. If anyone know where one is, please add the link to it.

Confirmed edlong - there were some shots around the river Nr the power station and in one episode (might be the same one) there was a shot in the complex where a power station worker on a gantery spotted a body dumped on top of the coal in one of the wagons of a coal train about to be discharged into the hoppers.

The programme, with Jack as a copper, seems preposterous to me.Nonetheless it's a fave for scene spotting. As a mere freeviewer I have only ever dipped in & out as repeats. Never watched a series or when new.I saw them filming around Gledhow/Roundhay way back 90's think one episode featured one of these big semis on the Drivehttp://goo.gl/maps/a1yekBelieve North Leeds Cricket Club - Old Pk Rd and/or the house next toit once featured http://goo.gl/maps/PZ7gVOne episode I do recall (cos Damian Lewis was in it) was Series 4 1996 Deep Waters. Think this visited Scarboro.Denton University bar was Roundhay Pk Lakeside Cafe. This migh be the House on the Drive episode too.Brief look on youtube, I can't seem to get much of full or part episodes - any ideas anyone?[psIf anyone likes Jason, his best 'straight act' film was 'All The King's Men' - about the Sandringham Company which "disappeared' at Gallipoli 1915]
