I found this flyer/pic on a Facebook group. Check out the postcode on it. How long has Taddy been in Leeds? Tadcaster is North Yorks and Leeds is West Yorks, isn't it?

Taddy has had an LS postcode for as long as I can remember. I'm sure it's been mentioned on here before, back in the mists of time.

Thing to remember is that the postcodes relate to the Post Office operation rather than the geography of a place.

Despite being LS24 Tadcaster is indeed not part of Leeds.However a not insignificant part of Leeds used to be in Tadcaster, as described here :

Many places appear to be in North Yorkshire that aren't and Whitby has a York postcode.People from S75 are mad.

Selby as also in the West Riding - the boundary was the river Ouse.
