http://www.yorkshireeveningpest.co.uk/I was passed a free copy of what I thought was the Yorkshire Evening Post as I walked through town this morning and it was only once I got home that I noticed the subtle difference. I'm guessing the owners of the 'real' YEP possibly won't be too happy if they see it as it looks virtually identical (althought there aren't the same amount of spelling mistakes or corporate press releases vaguely disguised as news stories as you'd get in the real YEP, which is a bit of a giveaway...)Has anyone else seen this, or been given a copy?It seems to be an irreverent take on local news and although quite funny and pithily written, it certainly carries it's own left leaning message.
Speaking the Truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act – George Orwell

This is an absolute pearler! So real even if alternative and I suspect, expressea the actual thoughts of a good many people.I particularly like your rentiments Davey:' (althought there aren't the same amount of spelling mistakes or corporate press releases vaguely disguised as news stories as you'd get in the real YEP, which is a bit of a giveaway...)'How true - you missed saying that much of what is reitterated or otherwise reported is so often factually and technically erroneous either through ignorance or just a lack of research!

It is an amazingly good fake. I actually had a couple of people I barely know come up to me in the Pack Horse & harangue me about what a mess the council had made of things, having read the news about the city going bust...Actually, that just happens anyway. Nothing to do with the Yorkshire Evening Pest, now I come to think about it.
