Hi guys.I'm wondering if anyone can help me here.Sometime last year i read in the Y.E.P about an old cinema in West Yorkshire (pretty certain it was Normanton)It was now lived in. If i recall correctly the cinema roof was now off and the sloped seating area was like a terraced garden. The front of the cinema was the living space and the stage area was still intact. It looked really curious.I thought i'd saved the paper but can't find it now.Can anyone remember the story or what the cinema was called? The only thing i've come up with so far is this place herehttp://

While this is not the definitive list it’s not bad. Worth a trawl.

Hi Phill, having looked at the photograph in your link I can confirm this is the converted cinema. Its just by the entrance to Normanton swimming pool.

www.geograph.org.uk/photo/364104 I remember the story very well Phill, from a TV report rather than a paper, but not the name of the cinema. However looking at this picture makes me think that you are right, because the living quarters upstairs at the front "seem right" in my recollection.
