It's fine, I have for my sins many Yorkshire rellies who still live in Huddersfield and spent many happy summer holidays there in my youth.Anyway, I'll leave you to get on with your bantering about and just to let you know I (thankfully) look like neither of your pictures.

hi, i just found this thread after i searched for slomans soap.it was actually my grandad and his brothers that founded the company, with the it being named after my great grandma's maiden name.unfortunately as i was born after my grandad and his brothers died i dont know what happened to the business or the soap.

great photo's, do you know the location of the first one showing your grandfather?I notice the the 'phone No. on the van is a 664701 in those days that would indicate connected to the Devonshire Avenue LS8 exchange, long since closed.
