Anybody remember Slomans Soap - always available on the market- and great for a good shave without bleeding to death. Last found some in Otley about ten years ago and on the box described as made in Grassington but much web searching has failed to trace

To all you fellow-Sloman Soap fansI have used it since I was 16, used to buy it in quite a few places but one by one the supply disappeared. It took a bit of searching but eventually I tracked it down to Heath & Pratt.I buy it by the caseload from Heath & Pratt, Units 4 & 5, Long Ing Business Park, Long Ing Lane, Barnoldswick, Yorkshire, BB18 6BJ.(01282) 843085And believe me I must be keen, I've lived in Canada for 30 years and still use Slomans Soap. (I think they know me at Heath and Pratt!)Good huntingJeanette

OK you miserable crowd, I tried to help you out I hope your chins are rough as sandpaper.I am a Lancashire lass so beware, remember who won the war!If you read the box that Sloman's is wrapped in it is "hand-fnished toilet soap" not shaving cream. But I am sure your better-halfs are happy that you care enough to use something that makes you smooth chinned if only you were smooth talkers but alas you're Yorkshiremen I see.
