Its nothing short of diabolical actually phill, people have spent a lot of time putting things together for this site so the least the people behind the site could manage to keep things afloatCome on for Christ sake once or maybe even twice you can accept that things go wrong but this is happening every other week now.
There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

Yes i'm a bit reticent to start slagging the site off becaue it is funded by the council and they have kept it going due to it's big success. That said aside they are paying good money to a company to run, maintain and keep this site online. Now this clearly isn't happening. As you say it is going offline all weekend at more frequent intervals. If it were my provider of either T.V, Broadband or any other service, I'd want some answers from them.I'd also want a hefty some of money back as recompense from them for a paid service they are clearly not delivering.

I'm inclined to agree with you Phill and I think blaming our sponsors directly is not the way to go, encouraging them to chivy up the host coy might be better. That's not to say I don't share Brandy's frustrations, it is at best annoying. I'm wondering if the cause might be down to the application as much as the hosting coy. At least when it wobbles, we don't have to negotiate a call centre in the sub-continet - unlike most ISPs!

I absolutely agree with you Chameleon as Brandy says it's just not good enough is it?It's the guys providing the service (or lack of it) to chase up here.Once or twice is forgivable.Weekly occurences tell you something is woefully wrong.I wonder how these guys would react if it were on line companies dealing with mail order? They'd loose a hell of a lot of business and someone would have to cough up compensation.

Uses the same web structure as Marketing Leeds and Secret Leeds and probably the same host - common denominator is them all suffering at the same time. Can't the server cope or is it inherent to the Microsoft system to which the application is tied I wonder?

Is it just me being sceptical but isn't it a bit of a coincidence that all the down time starts at the weekend.Yes it could be that the hosts spot problems before they become critical mid week, but could they be deliberately "throwing a spanner in the works" most weekends as a ploy in the hope that the council will "cough up" for out of hours cover. If you are reading web hosts and if it is sabotage I'd leave it out because LCC are not going to cough up for out of hours cover for Secret Leeds at least simply because it is a non essential (some might disagree) service.
