I think the last stores to remain open were the ones at Pudsey and at Nottingham ??I enjoyed many years good shopping at Pudsey and at Harehills. Mind you, it was necessary to be very careful what you bought because amongst many real bargains there was also a lot of second rate "tatt." I've heard ladies say that there was little of quality for them. For men though you couldn't go wrong - jeans, anoraks, shoes and boots, and trousers were great. I have several pairs of "Farah" trousers at around £10 - "seconds" but nothing discernable wrong at all. Also a range of trousers called "First Impressions" at £8 - 10, top quality and nothing wrong with them in any way.I was always amazed though at the heavily over priced furniture of dubious quality and origin - although they did a fabulous range of reasonably priced mirrors and picture frames etc.A bit of an enigma was the Tradex story.

I got LOADS of excellent gear for my camping, backpacking and fell walking jaunts, 100% wool socks, fleeces,waterproofs,gloves... ... ... .... At very reasonable prices too, a lot cheaper than the Outdoor shops.

Yeah i got some decent little bargains from Tradex myself,sleeping bags and outdoor mainly but i also bought one of the most warmest breathable waterproofs i have ever owned in my life from tradex,it was only a ragatta and i only paid a tenner for it in one of there mad sales but the same coat put £200+ coats of my mates to shame!Wasnt the shop over the road at one point?

Yeah remember the model house,it became a playground.Dodge city is also ringing a bell,but i thought that was after it was B and Q,could be wrong though.Texas rins a bell too,oh god,why have i drank so much ale,its ruined my memory on such things
