I refer to the 'taverner'(Simon Jenkins), articlein the YEP Sat .Jul .5th.I mentioned his glowing report on the reopeningof this pub, recently (I think)but can't findthe posting now!.This week,he was doing a report on the 'Wharfedale' inArthington,(just down Pool bank) and at one pointhe said,Quote;'Mind you, it knocks the Dyneley Armsinto a cocked hat.Iwrote recently that it had just reopened by Sam Smith's and doing a roaring drinking and dining trade. Barely had the ink dried on the column, when my West Leeds Spies(!) weretelling dark tales of Dyneley Discontent and I now learn that inrecent times there has been no food on offer at all!A real shame. The food there was excellent. If-as I am told-the plan is to stick to pre-prepared microwaved meals, then it makes you wonder why they bothered to re-open itin the first place' unquote. I never managed to get there,as I fully intended(!), so perhapsI won't bother until the reports get better!

Thanks Big S.We fully intended to get the Airport bus (757)at Kirkstall and drop off at the top of Pool Bank/Otley Road corner, for the Dyneley. As things are, we'll probablystop on the bus until the 'Wharfedale'now! That's always assuming we get some sun and the timeto make the trip!

Just thinking is it worth ringing them to see the situation? I've always been skeptical about reviews I read in the papers and things like that. It could just have been a one off. It is worth supporting pubs that are good that are re-opening expecially as we know are closing down at an alarming rate.To be fair though if a pub is rubbish it deserves to shut!
