Sorry, I've been trying by all means for the past 30 minutes to attach or display two articles from the Leeds Mercury about the inquest into Pablo Fanque's wife's death and about his own funeral in 1871 but have now given up in frustration! One article is too long to display direct in a message and I couldn't crop it enough for this forum to accept it as an attachment.Anyone with a Leeds Libraries card can search for "Pablo Fanque" on the 19th Century British Library Newspapers website, accessible online from the Leeds Libraries online resources website, by logging in with their library ID (you need to enter LDP before your library number). As King Charles's Croft is mentioned in the report on the sad incident I thought I would look up King Charles Croft in the Leodis website and found several results that are all interesting (some drawings much predate the incident). Although not directly related to the incident I thought this link to one about the Theatre Royal may be of interest as that theatre (partly on King Charles Croft, which I should recall but do not) will still also be remembered by others. http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... Thanks Uncle Mick. The funeral article was, in fact, the one I downloaded - it was my mistake to say it was in the Leeds Mercury (it was in a Sheffield/Rotherham newspaper).

In view of the thread topic it may be of interest that in a news item I've just read it reports that Paul McCartney is doing a tour and that "He is due to travel across six countries on the tour in the coming months. His set lists have included rarely performed songs such as Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite". It was also reported that during his recent show in Brazil the performance had an invasion of grasshoppers but Paul carried on.
