Its a civil offense they have the right to ask you to leave but the police cant arrest you. The owner of the property can prosecute you if they wish, but for it to stick in court they would need evidence to show you have either caused damage or stolen property. It really is down to the officer whether you stay or leave, argue with him though and things will just get worse. We've been stopped a number of times in the past and had mixed opinions from the police, some dont mind at all and leave you, obviously once we convinced him we're not chavs. Other times we've had to spend over an hour explaining why we are there, what we doing etc.At the end of the day this is what ive been told from a legal friend and from what we've personally experienced.

Much is written on the net.

nice website, shame about the forum registration form which is a pile of [edited for content] and meant that the username i wanted to use got taken in a messed up registration attempt - some [edited for content] to do with upper / lowercase passwords and numbers etc that didnt let me register yet used my username, of course i'd love to have a different username for all the online forums i am registered with but i like to put more useful things in my brain. Forget it.
