You're most welcomeHave you tried the National Roll of Leeds for further information? Like any research, it can be hit and miss, but there are a variety of sources out there as you are probably aware - newspaper obits, accounts, regimental and unit diaries, war memorials and church plaques.RegardsDave

Yorkshire Post has a feature on Carlsberg this morning confirming that closure of Leeds will be complete in 2011 with producton transfered to Northampton. Whilst it talks of a total capacity reduction in litres brewed, the Tetley Bitter/Mild brand is not mentioned. And as far as I am aware, Northampton is a lager production centre. So what IS going to happen to the proper beers?

http://www.just-drinks.com/article.aspx ... 33suggests Carlsberg are looking to grant a franchise to a Yorkshire brewery. I also noticed, while finding that, an article in the YP in which Greg Mullholland is suggesting they use some of the money from the sale of the Leeds site to open up a smaller Tetley's brewery on a more economic site.

Leeds Brewery perhaps? [tounge in cheek!]

greg did cite Leeds Brewery as an example of a succesful yorkshire brewery. I would think though that Leeds brewery must be close to exceeding the volumes that make them a micro brewery and eligible for tax breaks on excise duty

They will be continued to be brewed by Daleside, Skipton, Timmy's, Leeds, Rudgate, etc.......We're far better off for beers nowadays than in the Tet's heyday.
