I've just had a look at the YEP site and all of a sudden I was presented with some sort of dating site. I'd just opened up one of the stories and as far as I know, didn't click anything else. There were some pics of ladies flashing their boobs so I'm not complaining on that front, but presumably that would not be allowed by them, so I'm wondering where it came from.

Hi Grumpybloke, The ads are tailored from your previous browsing history and cookies, rest assured that if someone hadn't been looking at those kind of things previously they would not have been presented.

There's only me using this computer and I haven't been looking at dating sites! Also, I clear browsing history and cookies very regularly.

This may be a bit unfair on the YEP as the smoke alarm check request apparently came from the fire service, but even if they gave the wrong information I would have thought the YEP should have spotted the error. On page 17 of today's edition of the YEP there is a small item in which it states "West Yorkshire: The fire service wants people to check smoke alarms when they turn the clocks back this weekend". The clocks in fact go forward one hour this weekend, not back. I don't spend my time trying to spot errors in the YEP but this one was obvious when I read the item. My method to remember which way clocks go is that they go back at the back end of the year.

I still change Centigrade to Fahrenheit by doubling the centigrade figure and adding thirty. It's not exact but only a couple of degrees out. Some things taught at school did stick.
