I have an uncle, my dad's brother who went out there, Denis, he had 4 daughters when I last heard of him, about the time my dad died. For the Leeds Lass, yes we are all 'Eugene', don't know why. My father died in 1980 aged 52 so your guess at 70 was a bit out.But to keep this thread alive, who remembers Big Jim Moran and Denis Huckerby and Barry Samples? Windmill guys. I remember the Eugene Lacey'sI have known them for years i used to go to there house as a kid (near the club and vickerage on grangefield industrial estate in pudsey) and and if its the same peeps the 2 brothers nicknames were yogi and boo boo (boo boo got me to go work as a doorman/bouncer at studio one on north street). So hope you are all welland all the bestP Bailey

Not infamous, but reminded of them because of your "bouncer" reference was Big Bill Richardson who was a black guy with massive muscles who did bouncing around Leeds. He trained with another muscle man called Tony, whom had had a problem of disfugurement to his face. Around in the 1970's, Tony was a particularly nice guy if I recall. Anyone??

Bill's brother was called Joel and also worked as a bouncer at studio one

In fact that's what all the trouble in the Trotters was over if I remember rightly, Doormen and their bosses muscling in on others territories. Yep that sounds about right, I worked for Tony Hardcastle and Marco Then went to work for one night club as the pay was better

The little club down stairs in kirkgate was called the Embassy, my dad was involved there, with big Jim Moran, Barry Samples, Little Tony Heath, Denis Huckerby. My earlist memories of that place was picking the bits of glass out of the feather boa wearing girls painted on the stage back drop, thought they were real diamonds. The windmill peephole was because gaming wasn't totally legal then, didn't stop some of the local constabulary going in there though! Billy Bremner, Jack Charlton Gary Sprake Mick Bates but to name a few often went in as well, my dad brought their autographs home every other week. Happy times as they say.
