With their standard of brewing, theirsales would rocket in no time and we wouldn't be stuck withThe present day 'Non'-Tetleys!Just an Idea!?arry This dinnertime, one of the Leeds Brewery lads was on Radio Leeds talking about this very subject, Arry! He was saying that Leeds Brewery's sales are growing because they are a micro-brewery with a niche-market, whereas Carlsberg-Tetley had grown too big and remote from their customers. Sounds about right. I am not been a Killjoy but Leeds Brewery sales might have grown( but by how much?) Micro brewery= Micro growth?. As I said in my previous post I think cask beer is a dying breed, just like Fishmongers,Greengrocers,Cobblers,Post Offices,Haberdasheries ???? sad but I think true.Michael Well i think Leeds brewery seems to be doing quite well. Was in York last friday and went in the Brigantes on Micklegate.Had a couple of Leeds best and whilst stood at the bar i reckon every other pint of bitter ordered was Leeds Best. They are in the hunt for more premises in the centre so business must be good.I think they need to keep their niche and not go too big, quality not quantity!

You'd better ring them first, to check availability. In my experience, they sell out quickly. Mind you, there's always The Junction, Bay Horse, Black Bull et al...................... PS They're on Bondgate BTW, near The Ring O' Bells.

Right on the corner opposite the NCP? Very interesting? Whata rare occurance a pub actually opening not closing?Especially a totally new pub not owned by Wetherspoons in premises which had never been used as such.

Lads I'm a committed bitter drinker but have known life long quaffers switch to lager because of the high risk of a bad pint. I have to admit I drink John Smiths as the quality tends to be less variable. I used to drink Trophy years ago and still have Websters greeen label in the club. I know it's weak but I like it.I can't stand a warm bitter either and proper cask froma cold cellar is just heaven. What Uncle Mick was saying is bang right though if it doesn't shift it goes queer. It's why I never touch guest ales as it will not give a good account of itself.I bet there's be a lot less trouble if youngsters drank bitter as they'd not get so pi$$ed. It's not as easy to drink 8 pints of bitter as it is 8 bottles of that blue $hit.
