Remember when it was built - it was probably designed by Poulson and at as such is part asbestos and part cardboard.

That error could be very upsetting for anyone that expected to see an announcement. The general lay out of the paper also seemed different, being a bit of an hodge-podge.

If you bought the YP and the YEP today, you might have spotted that they've both used the same 'splash' pic of the Brownlee brothers on the front page (I know, cos I'm in it!).I know they're now sharing editorial staff, but sharing photos too?

On page 18 of the YEP today there is a photo of a newly married couple posing at one of the post boxes that had been painted gold in celebration of Nicola Adam's boxing victory at the Olympic Games. The photo caption refers to the post box as being in Millennium Square (it is on Cookridge Street close to the junction with The Headrow). In a feature by Rod McPhee on page 14 he compares the success of Granary Wharf to Clarence Dock (now renamed New Dock by the new developers). In the feature it states both places "are just that little bit out of the city centre, yet one has been a huge hit, the other an embarrassing failure". If Granary Wharf is "a bit out of the city centre" then I suggest that Clarence Dock is in another country! Granary Wharf is just at the rear of Leeds Station, unlike the very much out of the way location of Clarence Dock.

The Olympic postbox report is just another example of lazy YEP journalism at it's worst.Sadly, Rod McPhee often talks from the very orifice he's convinced himself the sun shines out of.....

I notice in the online version today(24/8/12),the YEP is up to it's usual tricks of lazy reporting/editorial management. There is a story "Caravan thief led police on a 70mph chase along the M1".At the top of the story is a picture of scales of justice, underneath which, the caption reads:"A police officer who is alleged to have had sex on duty has appeared in court" !http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 19Wow,must have been mighty agile at that speed !It could only feature in our YEP......
I'm not just anybody,I am sommebody !

If they're agency photos it wouldn't surprise me. I think it's reasonable to assume that a lot of content in the YP and YEP will the same from now on and the only major difference in the YP will be the million pound houses and farming vacancies in the back. This wouldn't be so bad if the Evening Post was actually an evening paper, with the final edition published after midday rather than at 10am.
